On the afternoon of July 7, 2020, a delegation led by Zhang Yangao, General Manager of Shanghai Aoshi Shipping, and Jia Qipu, Executive Director, visited Jiangsu Ocean Shipping, accompanied by Clarkson (Shanghai) Directors Qian Liwu and Li Chengshan. The meeting was attended by Mingze Qin, Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Ocean Shipping, Lin Min Yin, Head of the Shipping Department, and relevant personnel from the Port and Shipping Branch of the Jiangsu Comprehensive Transportation Society.
Director Li Chengshan was invited to deliver a special lecture titled “Outlook on the Dry Bulk Shipping Market under the Impact of the 2020 Pandemic.” As a renowned shipping analyst with 15 years of research and consulting experience in the maritime industry, Director Li Chengshan provided a detailed analysis of the current shipping market. He discussed ship prices and rental levels for different vessel types, the maritime demand for major dry bulk commodities such as steel, coal, bauxite, and grain, and the FFA futures market levels. Using comprehensive data, he illustrated the pandemic’s impact on the global shipping market and focused on the development trends of China’s dry bulk market in the post-pandemic era, helping to clarify ideas and directions for the audience.
The Shipping Department engaged in in-depth discussions with the visiting guests. Lin Min Yin expressed that Jiangsu Ocean Shipping has many years of experience in nickel ore transportation, with a team of highly skilled crew members and a high-quality shipping management team. He hoped that both parties could further strengthen cooperation and communication in nickel ore transportation.
